Oakdale Joint Unified School District | Oakdale, CA

Superintendent's Message

Community of Oakdale,

It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to serve you as the Superintendent of the Oakdale Joint Unified School District. As we transition from the 2010-11 school year into the 2011-12, I will be seeking your help in establishing a new Oakdale Community Education Council and a new OJUSD Facilities Committee.

The Oakdale Community Education Council (OCEC) will be utilized to help the District develop a new three-year Operational Plan to guide the District and OJUSD Board of Trustees in achieving our long-range strategic plan goals. The OCEC will have significant input on the elements of curriculum, community collaboration, enhanced parental involvement, technology, standardized testing education and nutrition. The objectives in the Operational Plan will be stated in measureable terms to enable the OJUSD Board of Trustees to assess the District’s progress on an annual basis. All of us want to see our children excel! The Operational Plan will play a large role in achieving that goal.

The OJUSD Facilities Committee will help the OJUSD Board of Trustees and District Administration develop a long-range facilities plan. This committee will review all school facilities and begin the process of prioritizing district needs. The OJUSD has invested heavily in our school facilities and wants to make sure we maintain these facilities and add structures where needed. This process will help to ensure parity at school sites and continue the Boards’ desire to be proactive as opposed to reactive in meeting our children’s educational needs.

If you would like to serve on either of these two councils/committees, please contact me at the Oakdale Joint Unified School District Office. I plan to begin meetings in August. Despite continued budget woes, I look forward to a very productive and successful year for all Oakdale Schools!

Sincerely,

Marc Malone
Superintendent
