Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to take an on-line course for OJUSD credit?
Any grade 7 - 12 student currently enrolled at O.J.H.S, O.H.S, E.S.H, O.C.H, or V.O.H, with approval from your counselor.

How many on-line courses will be accepted for credit?
Five (5) credits per semester from on-line courses will be accepted.

How do I register for on-line courses with the district?
Students interested in taking an on-line course must have the course approved by their high school prior to beginning the course. Applications can be filled out in your high school counseling office.  You may also use the interactive Online Course Application posted to the right. After you have filled out the on-line form, save a copy to your computer and Print
the application. Sign and date your On-line Course Application.  Submit the application to your high school counselor.

Is there a cost for Online Courses?
No, there is not cost to students or parents

How much time can I expect to spend on each on-line course?
Commit to at least 15-20 hours per week per course.

When can I start my on-line course?
A student can start an on-line course as soon as it is approved by your high school counselor.

What classes are available to 7th and 8th grade student?
At this time the physical education class is the only class available. This meets the need of students whose schedule is more than the regular school day. Summer school 10-11 may provide some remedial programs for students in need of support to transition to the high school. Counselor approval is necessary on all requests for on-line classes.

By when do I have to finish the on-line course?
Students must complete their on-line course by the end of each semester.

When are final exams and where do I go to take them?
All final exams will be taken in class with approval of the teacher at the end of the course.

Which high school requirements are fulfilled by Education2020 (E2020) courses?
The E2020 courses fulfill the district's high school diploma requirement; however, these courses have not been certified as fulfilling the "a-g" subject requirement for admission to the California University system
as a freshman.

How do I get the course on my transcript?
Once you complete the course, your teacher will confirm courses completed with your counselor.  Your counselor will ensure credits are posted to your record.
