Education – Power of One
(Character Education: CDE
Website) Character Education involves teaching children about basic human
values including honesty, kindness, generosity, courage, freedom,
equality, and respect. These truths are most readily received by
children and youth from individuals they trust and admire. Our
district’s Character Education Plan, “The Power of One – to Impact
All” is based upon the premise that the most powerful influence in a
child’s life is not a curriculum but rather a one-on-one
relationship with someone they trust and admire. When we as adults,
whether teachers, coaches, maintenance crew, cafeteria workers,
parents, grandparents, etc., model the attributes of honesty,
kindness, generosity, courage, freedom, equality, and respect and
then take the time to invest in the children around us, we are using
Our Power… the Power of One person to impact the youth of today.
